if the shoe fits...

i think if you've followed my blog for more than say, oh, five minutes, you'll know i love shoes. flat shoes, wedges, heels, boots...it's all good. shoe store press days are largely my favourite, and i've been known to getting overexcited at the words "five inch heel". having said that, i'm a big advocate of wearing pretty flats to parties. it was only a few seasons ago that it became socially- and sartorially - acceptable to wear flat shoes to fancy events, which we have to credit to the "cool girl effect". chloe, louis vuitton, marc jacobs, and the fact that everyone's favourite it girl alexa chung rarely wears anything higher than a couple of inches are to thank for the craze for pretty flat shoes for parties. the christmas party season can be kinda rough on a girl's tendons if you're rocking stilettos all the time, so i'm a fan of wearing cute flats. especially, as my mother would remind me, you can get away with wearing something a lot shorter if you're in flats, as it minimises that endless-look-at-my-legs thing you end up with in shorts and heels. viva la diva have the HUGEST selection of wide ladies shoes, from flats to five inches and up. if you're stuck for a pair to complete an outfit, i'd definitely say you should check them out. they've got budget options like schuh, and then luxury labels like michael kors and tory burch. there's something for every pocket, and every taste. i consider myself something a shoe shopping connoisseur (hey, i needed something other than just a collection that'd make carrie bradshaw weep after the amount i've forked out) and i really like shopping through the site. there's a brilliant section, and some pretty sweet prices.
