every season, there rolls around at least one or two trends that divide the crowd. the resurgence of the power shoulder, the die-hard fans of the frilly ankle sock, and the kitten heel have all pitted different sides of the fashion pack against each other. and for the last few months, it's been the peplum. some women loathe them, quoting the extra bit of fabric flapping around the middle downright unflattering, whilst others think they're cute as heck. i was unsure. for a long time, i really was. but when they didn't seem to go away, and in fact seemed to grow in strength month by month, i decided this was one bandwagon i wanted to hop on. i liked the fact that you could make them seem smart for work, but dress them down for play and even work one into a sleek evening outfit. for a girl like me who basically stopped growing at 14 (i'm hoping for a late growth spurt. i eat a lot of green leafy vegetables) i thought i might be able to get away with an extra kick to my silhouette. this black peplum top is an 18 + east number - i'll be working with them more and more over the next few months, but if you're in london this week, you should definitely come to our club night on wednesday. it's at the book club in shoreditch, totally free and there'll be manicures and goodies on the night. tweet me (@danielakate) for details! the lovely daniel is now my resident photographer (he also did my header sketch and makes a mean guacamole), so a big thank you to him. my jeans are by french connection, and my watch is marc jacobs.

The peplum top looks great on you! I've tried one on before and it doesn't really suit me, which is a shame because I think they're really pretty.
You look gorgeous!! :)
I like the peplum trend but I've not actually tried it on myself yet.. haha. xx
This looks so good on you! I'm still scared to try this; I honestly don't think it will suit me, as when it's done wrong, it can look awful... You look amazing though xo
the peplum really suits you, I've not bought into this trend just yet :) xx
Looks fab on you :) I'm a total peplum addict - I've actually been wearing them for over 3 years already! I really think there's one out there for everyone, but different rises, styles etc suit different figures

I love the peplum on you - it's really lovely and it looks great with those pastel pink jeans (such a fab colour). I've always wondered about your header and especially love your name sketched into the tea cups!
You look great! I love peplums on other people but I am yet to find one that suits me!

Peplum suits you so well! And those jeans look incredible on you!!
I love this peplum on you - I think it can be flattering but it needs to be a longer peplum (like this one) cause I think the short ones stick out more and can make you look wider as a result.
You look stunning hun! The peplum looks perfect on you & the colour of those trousers is beautiful :)
Aysh xoxo

Simple and cute! I neglected them for a while till I could not avoid but buy 2 of them (both from ASOS) and now I am a convert! :)
This outfit is so simple but so nice. I love the way you've incorporated a more summery shade of denim into it.
