the details

let me recount to you some advice a very wise woman once said to me: 'don't spend your on clothes. buy jewellery. that way, if you have to flee a country, you can take it with you''. while hopefully i'll be allowed in the UK for the indefinite future, i like the idea of having things you can grab and go when you need to make a move. having said that, my jewellery preference tends towards the incredibly delicate, and coupling that with tiny fingers mean i often lose rings pretty quickly. so it's good to buy in bulk, yes? i bought a set of about fourteen for around a fiver in forever 21 yesterday, and along with the piles i got for christmas, i'm doing okay on the ring front right now. i love wearing rings, especially tiny midi ones, though often i forfeit a good deal of dexterity to this trend. also, i can't type or eat with them on, so a little pile sits next to me in cafes and by my desk. i bought this ear cuff, too, for about four pounds - so far, none of my friends or family have liked it but i really do. i don't have my ears pierced, so this is the perfect way to cheat without the bother of needles. buying the cuff made me want to shake things up a little, hence the pushed-aside hair and red lip. i guess i was half-channelling sienna miller at the MET gala last year - i'd love to wear this cuff with a full smokey eye for maximum impact. if you know me, you'll know 90% of my wardrobe is black, and my love for the muted tones extends to my manicure. i've been wearing essie luxedo at the moment - it's a dark, aubergine, almost-black that goes well with stacked rings. i also love the pure black, licorice, and the after school boy blazer, but i'm rationing it as it was limited edition. where do you buy your jewellery from? it's my twenty first this year so i could go for something special...

I have really fat knuckles so rings never fit properly :( Love the ear cuff though, I don't have my ears pierced either so maybe I need to invest in one?

That lipstick looks lovely on you! I tend to buy sterling silver jewellery as I have quite sensitive skin. My favourite jewellery brands are Tiffany & Co. and Najo.

Love the cuff - it looks awesome! I buy rings from all over the place and tend to go for super simple pieces because they look best layered together on my fingers. I'm definitely more about simple pieces rather than big bold cocktail rings. Anyway - some of my favourite pieces have come from COS, Whistles, Daisy London do some cute initial ones and sometimes you can get nice ones in UO (Though they tend to tarnish reallllly quickly). Can't believe you're 21 this year - you're still a young un!....this obviously something someone super old says lol. Oh gawwwwd.

I love your ear cuff! It looks really cool, you should ignore your family haha. I also like wearing loads of rings, but most of them don't fit me properlly so I lose them... I love H&M jewellery because it's nice but inexpensive xx

Lovely collection of rings! I love stacking rings up, I have quite thin fingers also so put smaller rings on last to hold the others on. X

Love the ear cuff on you, it looks great. I too am obsessed with rings. My boyfriend bought me my first midi ring for Christmas with a bear face on it and I am now a convert :D
