i've had a few shake-ups in my make up bag recently; i've bagged a few new products during some boots hauls and been having a play around with a few new releases. eyes first; i've really been loving the NARS brow perfector in 'caucase' - you all know i'm a fan of the bold brow, and this baby is perfect for filling in gaps and giving me a stronger, fuller look (if that is possible). i'd been using the benefit brow zings before, which i do still love, but this is ten times less fiddly as it's just a retractable propeller-style pencil, and is one product rather than two in a little compact. i don't normally use a gel or anything to set my brows, so some of you might still want something clear on top, but this gives a really soft, natural look with no hard lines or patch bits, and it's really blendable with your fingers if needed. i've also tried (and loved) a new mascara - the kevyn aucoin essential mascara*. okay, this took some getting used to. the tube's quite heavy and quite a lot of product comes out on the wand, so you might need to wipe it against the tube a little to get rid of any lumps, but once you get the hang of the slightly curved brush? amazing. really long, fluffy-looking lashes and nowhere near as clumpy as it looks. it actually stays pretty well all day, and i've had a few compliments on my lashes lately, so that's a score. also, the new by terry aqua print eyeshadow in darling muse, which i mentioned in my last post. it's just a really good grab-and-go pearly colour, or good for a base for a smokey eye or as primer. you don't get much product in the pencil, but you only really use a little and it's child's play to apply - no brushes necessary. moving onto face, i've rediscovered my love for laura mercier's radiant primer* - it's so gorgeous. i've had this tube for a year, use it loads and there's heaps left, which is a pretty good advert for cost per use. i'm keen to try the new bronze radiance for summer, but this is just such a healthy, warm-toned primer that really makes you glow, not shine. one of my all time faves, a make up artist used this on me last year, and i got so many compliments on it i got totally addicted. then, the BECCA shimmering skin perfector in pearl* - again, another staple on this blog. i use it across the bridge of my nose, up onto my forehead, and on my cheekbones, temples and cupid's bow and buff it in like mad - a light-from-within, sculpted glow. you get HEAPS of product for the price, so i reckon it's a good investment as you use so little. also, the NARSissist palette is a great one to chuck in your handbag - i don't use the illuminator too much as i love my BECCA, but the bronze and blush tones are good for a quick contour and lift to the face. then, the stila all-over shimmer powder duo in kitten. i'm having a huge stila moment right now, but this kicked it off: two shades, one illuminating, one contouring, but used together, you get a lovely, soft-focus warm look to your complexion. it's not shiny at all, more pearlescent and healthy-looking. i adore it and use it all the time. last but by no means least, the NARS lipstick in funny face*, which you can pick up from ASOS (lots of places are out of stock right now) it's such a fun, bright pink that wakes me up and makes me look like i've slept. what do you think of this look?
